Jemboy Baltazar, the 17-year-old victim of six Navotas cops whom they claimed in the case as a "mistaken identity," has been laid to rest on Wednesday, August 16.
A Holy Mass was held for the victim at San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish Church before his remains were brought to La Loma Cemetery in Caloocan City.
Baltazar was shot dead by six Navotas City Police Station (NCPS) officers after he jumped from a boat into a river on Babansi Street in Barangay NBBS, Navotas City, at 2:45 A.M. on Aug. 2. The incident was witnessed by his companion, alias Sonny Boy.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) assured that they will continue the investigations until the victim's family gets the justice they deserve.
The six policemen involved in the shooting were relieved and charged with criminal and administrative cases, including homicide.
On Tuesday, Navotas City Police Chief Police Colonel Allan Umipig was relieved of his post and will be facing an administrative complaint while the list of cops to face raps increases.
